Executive Team

As a Managing Principal and Co-Founder of SMA Equities, LLC, Sina Mahfar directs an expansive portfolio made up of diverse asset classes, including residential, mixed-use, commercial, and virgin acreage. In the early 1980s, he and his father started a family real estate business.

At the time, he was studying at Hofstra University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business. Today, Mr. Mahfar is recognized as a savvy real estate owner and developer. Although well-regarded for his track record in strategically creating value in existing properties, many formerly underperforming, he is equally recognized as a developer of single-family and multi-family properties in primary markets, such as in Long Island, New York City, and Dallas.
 

Mr. Mahfar was born in Iran and moved to Switzerland as an adolescent, where he attended the prestigious Ecole Nouvelle in Lausanne and earned an International High School Diploma in French and English. A world-traveler and strategic investor, he began expanding the company’s holdings in 1991 by investing in the Texas real estate market. In the late 1990s, he become more active in New York City real estate, investing primarily in Manhattan.
 

Over the years, Mr. Mahfar has incorporated his professional knowledge into charitable endeavors, as well. In addition to being a member of the Long Island Association, he is an active supporter of the United Jewish Appeal (UJA), AIPC, the Macabee Foundation, and the Iranian American Jewish Federation of New York. Fluent in French, Persian, and English, Mr. Mahfar is a proud U.S. citizen and the embodiment of the American Dream
