Established in 1986 as SMA Realty, SMA Equities is an active, hands-on principal investor in real estate investment, development, and operations — never a passive partner. We invest our own capital and manage what we own, an alignment that shapes every decision we make.

We are a leader in redeveloping underperforming properties nationwide: identifying well-located, fundamentally sound assets, then creating value through capital improvements, adaptive reuse, financial restructuring, and hands-on management. A pool of immediately available capital lets us close quickly and complete redevelopments efficiently.

Over its history the firm has managed and developed more than 5 million square feet of residential, retail, and office space, and over 3,000 acres across New York, New Jersey, and Florida — with its largest concentration in the greater New York metropolitan area.
